Enjoy the tranquil peace of delightful Norman stone churches and the sheer beauty of the villages and countryside. These hidden gems, this enchanted land… the Black and White Village Trail is a unique slice of England that can be found almost nowhere else.
With it’s quiet roads, friendly inns, tea rooms and B&B’s, this little patch of Herefordshire is a must for any visitor.
The Black and White Village Trail is a self guided circular trail of approximately 40 miles long, through the beautiful North Herefordshire countryside.
The circular trail is set out in a clockwise direction, and though the trail leaflet starts and finishes in Leominster, you may join at any point. The route is signed throughout with brown and white tourist signs. Please be prepared for and be patient with farm vehicles, particularly on minor roads.
The total distance is about 40 miles (64kms) and has the opportunity for plenty of stops along the way at villages, market towns and places of interest. The trail will provide an enjoyable day’s excursion at any time of year.
The trail is suitable for cars and coaches.
